India is one of the world's fastest growing economies, and it is expected to continue growing rapidly in the coming years. However, there is a significant problem that could hinder this growth: the lack of opportunities and preference for women.

45% of women aged 15 to 29 are not in education, employment, or training (vs. 6.5% of men).
12M women may be displaced by automation by 2030.
<19% labour force participation for women aged 15+ in 2021 (vs. 70% of men).
$6T potential GDP gain by 2050 if the employment gap were closed.
4.7% of CEOs were women in 2021.
7.7% of board seats were held by women in 2021.

Women face the threat of automation displacing them from their jobs. This makes it even more important for women to participate in the creation of technology and business, so that they can help tackle concerns about gender bias in these fields.

India's economy is expected to grow from 3 trillion to 8 trillion in the next decade. Despite this growth, the labour force participation rate for women is declining. Eliminating the 58 percentage point employment gap between men and women would expand India's GDP by almost a third, nearly six trillion US dollars by 2050.

"Bonica aims to tap into the untapped potential of female workers in India. By providing more opportunities for women to participate in the workforce, businesses can help drive economic growth while also empowering women and narrowing the gender gap. With the right support, women can thrive in the new world of work." Dyuti Biswas, Founder and CEO of Bonica Products

The world of work is changing rapidly, and women will need to be skilled, mobile and tech savvy to adapt to the new reality. Concerted and creative new solutions are needed to enable women to seize new opportunities in the automation age; without them, women may fall further behind.
